2. A tool to support conversations with your care team
Entries are written so that medical providers can use them when discussing a fetal diagnosis with families. They describe what is typical for a diagnosis, not what will happen in a specific pregnancy.
Every pregnancy is different. Care should be individualized by your medical team based on the diagnostic findings, your history, and your family’s values and goals.
3. Accuracy and updates
Each entry is developed using the most up-to-date information available at the time of publication and is peer-reviewed by fetal medicine specialists. Medical knowledge changes over time, so an entry may not reflect the most recent research. The “Updated” date on each entry shows when it was last revised.
4. Illustrations
Illustrations are simplified drawings created to help explain a diagnosis. They are not exact anatomical representations and do not show any individual patient.
5. Questions about your own pregnancy
The Atlas team cannot answer questions about individual pregnancies or review personal medical information. Please do not send patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers or other health information through our forms. For questions about your care, talk with your medical team.
